Do you have a favorite children's book? Do you remember wanting your parents to read it to you every night before bed? Well I sure do. My favorite children's book when I was little was Fish Out of Water. This book was about a little boy who got a gold fish as a pet. The boy named his fish Otto and he really loved his fish. He would feed his fish all the time. It became a problem though becasue Otto kept growing and he would not stop. He started off in a clear Fish bowl and would not fit anymore. He was even to big to fit into a pool. The boy was desperate becasue he didn't know what to do, so he called the Owner from the pet store to ask him what he should do. The pet store owner magically made Otto go back to a normal size and Otto once again fit into his fish bowl. The boy learned to only feed Otto once a day and not so much. I loved this book. It was written by Helen Palmer, and it is a Dr.Seues book.
The first time I heard this book, my grandparents had read it to me. I loved it so much and would have them read it to me all the time. I loved it so much that I needed to get another copy for my parents at my house. Even though I knew what was going to happen in the book to Otto I would still love hearing it. I feel that this book would be a good book for students becasue it can show them that you have to be resposbiel and pets take a lot of resposibilty. I would use this book in my classroom if their was an opportunity to do so.
